What Is the G20?

What decisions are being made that affect you?
These are questions that most of our classmates, do not seem to know how to answer. We also think that most of the youth is not engaged/aware about the event that is taking place right here in Toronto, on June , 26-27, 2010.
Our group, YouthWorldIMPACT, has decided to change this situation by learning and conducting research to educate ourselves.
We would also like to challenge other students in grade 9-12 to join us in learning, educating, and debating the issues, that will affect our collective future.
To make this a fun and interesting learning experience, we are organizing a contest to award the best submission/essay with a $100 Eaton Centre gift card.

Who are we?
Youth World IMPACT is an endavour to encourage the youth of today to put forth their thoughts and ideas regarding world issues, feats, and crises.We hope to inspire youth by actively supporting assertiveness and confidence in aquired knowledge so that together, we can make a world impact.
How can you get involved?
1. Write an essay
Submit a short essay on your opinions on the key global issues being discussed at G20 (ex. Global warming, bank tax, poverty), and include how they affect you.
2. Educate
Pick a global issue being discussed by the G20, and research what it is, and what it effects & why.

3. Debate
Pick a topic that’s being debated by the protestors, and present your ideas, on why you are for, or against.

Contest rules:
- Participants must be in grade 9-12.
- Submissions will be reviewed and posted on our blog at the sole discretion of YouthWorldIMPACT.
- Submission should be 1-2 pages.
- No plagiarism.
- Contest winner is decided solely at the discretion of our geography teacher (No appeals!).
- Closing Date: June, 15th, 2010.
- Contest winner will be announced on June 22nd 2010.
Reward: $100.00 Gift-card to the Eaton Centre to the best submission!
